In the fifth post of my series analyzing Retool's 2021 AI report, I explore the trend of companies building their own AI models.
The data reveals that 33% of companies with over 5,000 employees and 11% of companies with fewer than 50 employees are developing in-house AI models. Overall, 18% of companies are engaging in this practice, but industry-specific trends vary. Financial services companies lag behind with only 11% in-house AI model development, highlighting potential regulatory and security concerns.
